*What I have done in the past with this guide is not compensated and takes dozens of hours of research and interviews. While some time is spent transcribing much of my time is spent constantly trying to contact candidates to get answers to self-designed surveys with questions not typically asked. I did not have time to put that effort in this year so I apologize to any who were expecting that.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover people remembering this site even though I have not advertised it this year and all previous advertising was very limited.

Voter Quiz 1 & 2

I may have already posted one quiz but I'm reposting because it is a valuable tool in filtering out the junk.

1. http://www.isidewith.com/  (be sure to check out the alternate answers

This next quiz is new to me and is also helpful.

2. http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz

I encourage everyone to vote by principle.  These quizes will help you figure that out.  You may be surprised, I've had several people I know take the I Side With quiz and be surprised with the result.  That is okay though, it's based on your principles and it's very hard to see which candidate really fits you best with all that's out there.

One more thought:

Vote by who you think ought to win, not for who you’re told is the best bet to get rid of who you don't want to win.  Why do we let others convince us our values are not worth voting for?  When we allow others to convince us we are wasting our vote by voting our conscience (instead of the party line) then we are allowing them to debase our values.  If we keep on listening to their siren voices we will soon find ourselves lulled on the wrong side of the line we drew.

Issues Voting Quiz (isidewith.com)

I know I said I wouldn't do any National posts but this one had to be made.

Filter out the confusion and give this site a try:

http://www.isidewith.com/

This site has a "quiz" that asks questions on social, environmental, economic, domestic policy, healthcare, foreign policy, immigration, and science issues.  You can rate the importance of the question and even have other options besides yes/no - be sure to check out the "choose another stance" options.  It then matches you up with the presidential candidate that best fits with your answers.

It's also interesting to click on each candidate to see who quiz takers are matching up with.  The two most popular picks since I last checked are: Barack Obama and Gary Johnson.

Mitt Romney
Jill Stein
Virgil Goode
Rocky Anderson

Personally, I think a principled vote is best over a vote by party line.
